A license opens the full state file behind each state page: the report and its evidence supplement, as PDF and Word, the workbook with every sheet, and the datasets row by row, with each year's update. A State Partner or national license adds the comparison across states, the data API and more.
An account is for licensing: it holds your licenses, any custom data, your API key and your alerts. The full state files, the national datasets and the data API come with a license, at the fee schedule in force, asked for from the account.

The state file license is also a reduced-rate product for Deaf-led and disability organizations; the national license is institutional or commercial.

Register for an account
A license is asked for from a data account. Register here, or sign in if you have an account; once your address is confirmed, your account page opens the request.
Your data
Account data (your name, organization, category, email address, intended use, licenses, key, and alert choices) is used only to give access to what a license covers, to record licenses, and to send alerts. Nothing about an account is published, except that the funding page counts licensees by category, and names a State Partner only where its acknowledgement is recorded.
Each download and API call is logged with the account and the first characters of the key, and the log is deleted after 180 days. Deleting the account removes it, its details, and its licenses.
