State Partners

The state's own record, kept current, on terms that buy nothing but the work.

A State Partner is the state's education agency, its commission for the Deaf and hard of hearing, or its school for the Deaf, paying a fixed annual share of the cost of keeping the state's file current. The share buys the annual update, a briefing, comparison access, and a named acknowledgment. It buys no editorial input, and no figure, code, or frame decision changes because of it.

What a State Partner receives and does not receive

Both columns are the product

Acknowledgment is a named line on the state page and nothing more. A partner sees its file under notice on the same terms as the bodies named in it, and may propose corrections only through the correction route.

How the fee is set

  1. The cost is divided

The annual cost of keeping a state's record current, the re-audit, the rollup, hosting and storage, corrections handling, and the advisory group, is divided across the jurisdictions it serves.

  2. A partner pays its share

A participating body pays its share each year. Fees are fixed, issued on request, and not negotiated by entity size; the fee schedule is built from the program's run ledger, not from what any body might pay.

  3. The rest is sought, not sold

The unfunded share is sought from national funders until participation closes it. A body that wants its file built or updated ahead of the calendar pays the build cost, and the file is released under the same rules as every other, with notice to every body named in it.
